Time Capsules Library
l've taken many photos
flipped back on years later
screaming all too fast
you don't see what you did
how you looked stood up instead
they say a lot minus applause
images reflected in a mirror
would delete now
told in the glass shatters
I've asked who is in the picture
flipped back on years later
screaming all too fast
you don't see what you did
how you looked stood up instead
they say a lot minus applause
images reflected in a mirror
would delete now
told in the glass shatters
I've asked who is in the picture
the answer crashes messily
isn't it her past self at peace
picking apart what she hated
throw it back and start over
put the thoughts away dear
one at a time two maybe
those fashion choices included
standing out a grateful omage
outside of our magazines
paper dolls and perfect closets
was someone uniquely dynamic
I am the person photographed
erasing all the noise heard
right now is who are you
intertwined by sunshine and stars
naming places recently viewed
take camera roll back happily
begin the journey of self
shift those thoughts forward
watch our north stars glow
pick out yearly time capsules
this is who I wanted to be
elements beyond film reels
take part in your most beloved
I've figured out who is in the pictures
