Look Armored

Look Armored

how many times do you put on outfit
there's nothing too special
oh I have heaps of choices now
but it feels weird today
what I see gets twisted around
positively sees too much
hear praise of this label

ebbs and flow creek on the right
you could spend all day watching
identifying every last species
nature allows simplicity
idea little words mean lots
sometimes we call a trees real name
grace upon our current likes

tell me away from the mirror
rattle off tags on garments
easy right you have 30 seconds
now name 12 people and achievements
upload not sponsored by
retrace from concept to reality
there image changing so fast

price does not add up
it seems easy to guess
how much a shirt is worth
money leaving account soon
thrift and sale off limits
grand totals make you happy
only for a brief second

love has seen grand closets
look books in magazines
red carpets at awards
logos on almost everything
why is it hard to love ourselves
maybe the 1st step is happiness
ways to see people today

take off the armor ready
see worthiness appear
pride beats ego never
shown bravery inside
buy at a cost fit in well
times an outfit can speak
who decides on wear it goes

maybe you're the special one
love is unbranding me and you

Camp

Camp

what is always around
maps and compasses north
point out correct direction
whomwe go towards
building skills along
ready to seek east
wake up chasing sweetly
making rustic feel glampy
here scheduling paces slow

Where she'll pick wild flowers
dance with coffee cup full
no regrets for midnight pizza
staying by shore too long
handmade smores a 10 right
rules are on vacation

bracing for fun this trip
lost is truly found
our circles become great
we bottle confidence now
expect a refill smartly
alone with her insecurity

looking up the stars grow
her grounded mind wanders
the last supper comes to view
it reflects where little smiles
breaks bread and laughs
camp misses every unfiltered photo

Letters of Gratitude

Letters of gratitude

sometimes all you need is...
that facetime you needed so much
to hear a voice calm waves down
someone you met a while ago and
it clicked right away
is one text away during tough emotions
being one phone call to listen
not speak quite so loud
make time for each other now
wonderful friendship rising up

the pictures lined first wall here
desk sat below in large corner
graced with one incredible quote
you are beautiful popped up
visualize how beauty affects light
thought of ours shining out loud
a debit found true goodness

thanks to your sisterly love
Amen God here and now
sometimes all you need is...
people hanging around
going deeper
being two unique individuals
