A twisted perspective

February 16th I just opened up my dailyish bible verse app and this particular one popped out. It really stands out because of the world today. Our approaches to loving one another can be very different. At the 12:2 they had a relationship panel with single, engaged and married couples. What stands out is that someone said we love in a variety of ways. that is your love language. learn what yours and your partners is. this shows that you care about that person. I took inspiration also from this verse: 1 John 3:11 for this is the message you heard from the beginning. you should love one another.

A twisted perspective

Why do we only love a few
a bubble is made out glass
one small crack breaks, snaps
it's stepping onto a train platform
twisted metal into new marvels

each seat filled not by status;
race or religion or skin tone
What if our tickets told a
brand new story
hop inside a virtual car- see
no faces on any page
click someones name
we learn what matters most
that people are connected
from one cell to a heartbeat

Who are they as a person
God made them unique;
distinct yet camouflaged
in seat number one sits
the conductor of life
alongside is you; explaining
many qualities-combos
which paint an individual

you see others bits and pieces
no name, place, or religion swaying
minds,accepting lies over truth
his truth is to love beyond a list
beyond measures the we cannot change
it does not mold how one lives

fingerprints define a full name
imprints of reminders offered in
many forms
numbers can be complex or
surprisingly simple- revolving around
we have great accounts; cards;
more cell phone digits
those string of numbers you lock with
a key
opening up to one among masses
the train never runs out of seats;
show his inclusive love unlocked

open up the doors to a land without
houses, maps and modern technology
where our voices are not speaking in...
a tongue tied unison
unlock a world of learned norms
each , men and woman packed a bag
inside but a mere refreshment
inside a small bite to eat
the love of a nourished body

each, men and women had empty bag
contents:ability to LOVE ONE ANOTHER
FROM THE BEGINNING God loved the few
the glass turns into a mirror
your love magnified through him and
the few grew into grains of sand

Gods Excercise

February 13th and February 14th

I was listening to Spotify on the 13th and I heard one of my favorite songs come on. My favorite quote from that song plays, I always sing along to it. I see a rose in bloom at the sight of you... oh so priceless... irreplaceable. For Kings and Country's song makes me feel happy knowing that he is there to teach me.
I was scrolling through Instagram and saw one of my favorite people had posted a quote. It was in fact a bible verse that I did not know would impact me this much. The one listed in the poem hit home because I do not feel loved in a way that is out of this world. I was not proud of the way I was feeling that day. My anxiety took over and I turned once again to music. Music fills my soul up with a peace of mind. I start dancing the worries right out of my head. I find myself singing certain song lyrics as I am driving, out and about to calm me down. It helps me remember that I'm not perfect. Finally I just sang Its your breath in our lungs so we pour out our praise to you only.

Gods Exercise

Our lungs rise and fall
deep breath in; slow exhale out
fear and unknown play

what am I afraid of
a heartbeat comes alive wonderfully
faster and inside cries

God come fill me up
inhale his comforting words
let my voice bloom into a rose

a second passes by like an hour
I open up my book of words
maybe there will be inspiration

we poke and prod
each letter floating around
not one forms a complete sentence

my brain knows how to exercise;
together in sync with the heart
Am I afraid of glowing into a...
confident, take on the world firefly

A bible rests on a marble counter top
the firefly lights up each step
doubt, fear and my wall comes...
slowly down into a flawed human being

see the firefly stop at the mighty
your hand flips to a random page
these words are completely whole
depths of a meaning unlike a text

1 John 4:19 jumps off brilliantly
WE LOVE your special moments
daily BECAUSE life needs balance
HE FIRST came along to tip the scales
telling us he LOVED US forever

technology does not have emotions
it cannot replace the idea that;
Gods hand wrapped around people
making them scribes for a...
cluttered-opinionated earth
where love and kindness are weightless
inside a packed church on Sunday

farmers, carpenters, physician, fisherman
all that and more loved him first
so that we love our friends, family in
unexpected ways
creating your most beautiful self

Invisible Nametag

what a beautiful name it is... nothing compares to this...your love is greater...the heavens are roaring the praise of your glory... what a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus Hillsong Worship
I was thinking about names and how powerful it is to say certain ones.
This was written on February 10th

Invisible Nametag

one moment among many
look around and see a face
does it have just one name
we are known by a defining force
the power to change in merely a second
what earth do my feet rest upon

I walk along the shores of the Hudson
my first stop is a small ice cream shop
A vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles;
bigger eyes than stomach
daughters are a required title
filling moms world ablaze with color

In a lickety split, the core has been;
emptied among a rich perspective
A tire swing in a clearing of trees
bravery greater than fear
sisters are on the mountain peak
experiencing things before your time

In a second down on green grass
revealed deeply a new wanting
a pair of water shoes rest on dock
excitement over shakiness
fathers are in the drivers seat
advice to live life day by day

people are unique listeners;
hearing in the relevant
schooled inside the past,
I learned about great figures
millionaires, poets, activists
but whose name is an accomplishment

on this boat ride of life
I want a father who gives
I want a friend who lasts
I want a brother who encourages
I want a God who teaches

I want a powerful name
I want a beautiful name
I want Jesus greater than;
any title we give ourselves

I am

My inspiration for this was the church service on Sunday February 5th What stood out was this idea of titles and how we do not just define ourselves by our name.

Check out my sweet friend Becca and her amazing spoken word. So talented and brave. I was really inspired by her boldness and vulnerability. Vulnerability brings joy and freedom in the dark spaces of our heart. Thank you for sharing your heart Becca! 💕

I am
I am a human among animals
creating the past, living in the present
my photographs are in front of me
I look at the snippets of my life;
the first day of school seems like a blur
learning about words and numbers,
foundations of modern society

I am a kid among adults
finding our loves, studying the ancient
my work is now shown in the 2d
I see the hard work I created
the making of them went by so fast
dinosaurs and planets flashed before me,
building blocks of our natural world

I am a granddaughter inside a home
playing in the garden, laugh over lunch
my heart was full of joyful noise
I hear the words of advice
the moments have passed quietly by
happiness and family encompass me,
fundamentals of a chaotic landscape

I am a tween crossing the bridge
growing taller, not sure of myself
my emotions all mixed up; confused
I see of the tragedy that occurred
aftermath reverberates in my soul
making my voice a little bit louder
essentials to rock middle school

I am a teenager among millenials
becoming digital, discovering likes
my dreams brought to life
I try out many new passions; jumbled
is this the right path for me ?
doubts and fears slow to leave
places of a long journey

I  am a college student among intellects
starting a chapter, embracing a change
my stress is written in my face
I feel long nights ahead of me
the doing does not make me superwoman
books and papers danced inside my brain
starting point of my book has begun

I am a person among the masses
graduating into life, deciding on the future
my whole being tricked by the real world
I face the reality of what an adult really is
the definition just seems so American
bills and to do lists rule the clock
maybe one day I'll go back to school

I am a disciple of the other worldly God
learning about him, even more about myself
my words equal nothing without his truth
I keep stumbling on what I believe
the good enough will turn amazing
cards and letters are only temporary
yet being inside the bible is forever

I am a 12:2 member among peers
I am a grace member among locals
I use words in scripture and poem;
tracing my thoughts line by line
Psalms, John and Corinthians welcome;
a world of reflections into the human race

Gods Love

This was my jumping off point.
(Psalm 86:5- you,lord,are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you)

Gods Love by Becca gardiner

Love does not live in the inanimate
you can't see it through your eyes
I may love a color or scent;
but it is a spiritual journey to...
love someone in a special way

Love does not live inside a smartphone
you can't download it into your heart
I may love a game or song;
but it is a lifelong journey to....
love yourself in the present

Love does not rely on a like
you can't click from your fingers
I may love a picture or video;
but it is an inward journey to...
hear I love you in someone's voice

Love does not have fences
you can't close your mind
I may love my race or hometown
but it is an outward journey to...
love the diversity of others

Love does not lie in our hearts alone
you can't just beat for you
I may love myself or I
but it is an important journey to...
love jesus with great friends

Love is not just a pin on a map
you can shoot it across the sky
I may have been to D.C or NYC
but it is not about the place
let love fly across many oceans
